Terms of Service (HPL Sweat Science)

Effective Date: December 16, 2025

These Terms of Service (hereinafter “Terms”) govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between Geonwoo Yang (Individual Operator, hereinafter “Operator”) and users in connection with the use of the mobile application HPL Sweat Science (hereinafter “Service”).

1. Effectiveness and Modification of Terms

  1. The Operator publishes these Terms within the Service or via a public URL.
  2. The Operator may modify these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable laws, and will announce any changes along with the effective date and reasons for the modification.
  3. If a user does not agree with the modified Terms, the user may discontinue use of the Service and request account deletion.

2. Description of the Service

  1. The Service provides functionality to record and visualize fitness/performance-related test results (e.g., Lactate Threshold, VO2max, etc.).
  2. The Service may create and authenticate user accounts through Google Sign-In (Firebase Authentication) and store measurement results in the cloud (Firebase Firestore).

3. Accounts and Login

  1. Users may log in using a Google account.
  2. The Operator may require re-authentication (recent login) for certain functions (e.g., account deletion) for security purposes.

4. User Obligations

  1. Users must comply with applicable laws and these Terms when using the Service.
  2. Users must not engage in activities such as identity theft, interference with service operations, or unauthorized access.

5. Data and Account Deletion

  1. When a user deletes their account through the in-app account deletion feature, the Operator deletes the user’s personal profile information.
  2. However, measurement/record data may be retained in an anonymized form (with personally identifiable information removed) for the purposes of service quality improvement and research/AI development, and is generally not deleted.
  3. Since anonymized data has its connection to specific individuals removed, it may not be possible to selectively identify and delete records of a specific individual after anonymization. For inquiries regarding deletion, please contact us at the address below.

6. Restriction of Service Use

The Operator may restrict service use or suspend an account in the following cases:

  1. Violation of applicable laws or these Terms
  2. Interference with the normal operation of the Service
  3. Other cases deemed necessary by the Operator based on reasonable judgment

7. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

  1. The Service does not provide health or medical diagnoses. Information within the Service is for reference only.
  2. The Operator is not liable for service interruptions caused by force majeure, including natural disasters, system failures, or failures of external services (Firebase/Google).
  3. The Operator is not liable for damages caused by the user’s own fault.

8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. In the event of a dispute, the court having jurisdiction over the Operator’s address shall serve as the court of first instance.
